ABOUT FRIMAGE IMAGE METAL PRINTS
Frimage Image is celebrating it's 10 year anniversary! We are a "ChromaLuxe Certified Lab" and have proven to provide quality products and the best service for the past 10 years. Not many photo labs have produced ChromaLuxe metal prints for 10 years so it's an honor to be among the few!
At Frimage Image we believe in using only the highest quality coated metals (Chromaluxe), inks (Epson), papers and printers. Inks are infused into specially coated .045” aluminum panels using a dye sublimation process; this process creates an archival UV- and scratch-resistant durable print. Currently we use a high gloss white metal surface that is most popular with its extremely vivid, luminous quality unlike any other print you’ll see. The final product possesses an incredible amount of detail and glass-like surface, giving your image a unique modern look. Sheer Gloss surface is a custom option, which allows the aluminum to show through in areas where highlights appear in the image. This is a more artistic look that is great for black and white images.
Key features:

• Green Product. Made of 90%+ recycled aluminum. No VOCs in our process.

• Archival and fade-resistant; will last over twice as long as traditional photo papers

Please note: Although the metal prints are UV resistant, it’s still recommended to hang prints away from direct sunlight to preserve the longevity of the print.
FILE PREPARATION
What color space do you use?
We accept sRGB and Adobe RGB files. If you are not sure of your color space just send in the file and we will alert you of any issues.
How should I size my file?
Your file should be sized to the metal print size you want at 300 dpi/ppi. For example, if you are ordering a 20x30 print, set your file size to be 20” x 30” x 300 dpi/ppi. We accept High Res JPG (+10) files. 100Mb max file size accepted.
Copyright issues
We are a company owned and run by photographers who believe whole heartedly in artists retaining their copyright. By uploading your image, you agree that you are indeed the original artist of the image and/or that you have full rights to print it.
I’m having problems with my file. Can you help?
Yes we can just drop us an email. We do offer additional services such as file prep and retouching please contact us for pricing. We inspect all files prior to printing and want your image to turn out perfect so we will let you know if we see problems with your image.
Can I use an image from my phone?
Yes, but don’t forget the better the original image, the better the metal print. Make sure you are shooting at the largest file size you can be. Also, keep in mind that cropping in to your photo diminishes the file size and can give poor results.
Do you have other sizes available?
We can make custom size frames and metal prints; email or call us for specifications.

Remakes
We review each order to make sure it’s right, but we need you to check your image prior to uploading as we are not responsible for any defects in the original image. Remakes will only be done from the original files submitted from your original order; if you have changes to the file you'll need to place a new order, at your cost. Please check your order over carefully when you receive it - if there is an error or damage to your order, contact us within 10 days. Document the problem by taking a photograph and emailing it to us for our records. You will be responsible for paying your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund. You are responsible for expedited shipping costs on remakes.
Manufacturing Specifications
The .045” aluminum prints have a coating applied via a state-of-the-art process which occasionally will contain slight imperfections such as small divots or bumps. We will do our best to make sure they don’t appear in important areas of your image; Frimage Image cannot remake orders because of these small imperfections.
Our wood frames are made of exactly that: wood. Wood is a natural product with variations in grain, texture and color; any variances are considered as character, not flaws. No two frames will be exactly alike.
A note on acrylic frames: Acrylic is one of the hardest materials to work with. We hand sand and polish each and every piece to make the frames as crystal clear as possible. Our standards are very high but it’s possible a small scratch could mar the product. If this occurs please contact us.
ABOUT US
Frimage Image was the brainchild of professional photographers Tricia Shay and Steven Puetzer. The staff is made up of photographers as well, which means you have someone who knows what good printing and quality managed color is all about. In our custom lab we use state of the art equipment and the best calibration tools and color profiles available, and follow critical guidelines to offer the best metal prints (Chromaluxe) on the market.
Printing on aluminum is not like printing an inkjet print; it's an art, and like any art, it takes time to perfect. You can compare it to baking. Give 5 people the same ingredients and the same recipe, and chances are the final product will taste different from each person, depending on how they tweak it. We tested the metal print process for over a year, adjusting each step until we got our "recipe" just right. Not all labs take the time to do this, but we felt it was important to be able to offer our clients an outstanding product.
We enjoy working hand in hand with other artists and photographers, interior designers, and individuals. The luminous prints lend themselves to any application, both commercially and residentially. If you are a design or photography professional, contact us for information on wholesale accounts.
